Will Castillo

Will Castillo earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Florida International University in 2011. While there, he conducted research in theoretical biophysics studying the protein folding problem and was first introduced to an HPC cluster. Later, the work was published in the Journal of Chemical Physics.In 2012, Will completed his Master of Science in Exploration Geophysics at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom focusing on exploration for hydrocarbons. Wanting to know more on the business side of technology, he completed his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2020 specializing in Analytics and Information Technology (IT).Previously, he worked in the Oil & Gas industry for ~8 years using high performance computing (HPC) to process seismic data for subsurface imaging of petroleum reservoirs. Most recently, he was part of the Upstream Research devops group at ExxonMobil as a HPC System Analyst.He is married to his high school sweetheart of 18 years and they have 3 children; the newest member was born recently on June 11, 2021. In what little spare time he has, he and his family enjoy the pool, watching movies, and visiting NASA and the Houston Zoo as lifetime members.Will is currently working from his home in Houston, Texas.
