Argonne National Laboratory

Laura Schulz is Lead for Quantum Innovation at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility, where she drives the integration of quantum computing into large-scale HPC environments. Her work focuses on system software, orchestration, operational readiness, and end-to-end workflows for heterogeneous HPC–AI–quantum systems, advancing quantum toward production-ready use.

Previously, she led the Quantum Computing and Technologies department at LRZ within the Munich Quantum Valley in Germany, where she seeded multiple quantum systems on-premise, led a multidisciplinary team, and integrated emerging quantum accelerators into the HPC ecosystem—ranging from hardware-software hybridization to user-centric quantum–HPC workflows. She served as PI for the EuroHPC Euro-Q-Exa project and helped establish foundational operational and software frameworks for hybrid classical–quantum computing across Bavarian, European, and global ecosystems.
