Kelly Marquardt

Kelly Marquardt is a highly accomplished technical leader with 25 years of experience in the field of high-performance computing (HPC), most of this at Cray, Inc. where she held engineering and leadership roles.

In 2003, Kelly joined Cray, Inc. and took on various roles over the years. She started as a Senior Hardware Engineer, where she led the design of high radix network router ASIC and played a key role in architecture and logic design for memory interface ASIC. Later, she became the Hardware Engineering Manager, overseeing a team of engineers and contractors responsible for custom engineering special-purpose systems, and later served in various Program Management roles in customer focused technical programs.

Most recently at Cray, Inc. Kelly served as the Vice President of R&D Strategic Customer Engagements. She built and managed a team responsible for customer engagement, strategic procurements, and research and development programs. Kelly played a pivotal role in capturing leading-edge strategic procurements and managed the execution of these programs. In that role Kelly served as the Cray lead for the CORAL-2 Exascale program, managing the overall engagement for the exascale machines contracted by OakRidge National Laboratory and Livermore National Laboratory.

With the acquisition of Cray by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Kelly continued her role leading the strategic customer engagements team. Later, she transitioned into a leadership role in Supercomputing Product Management. In this position, she managed the high-end supercomputing business, drove product strategy and decision-making.

In 2021, Kelly took a new role as Vice President of Business Development for NextSilicon, a high-tech startup based in Tel Aviv that is building a computer chip accelerator for high performance computing. In this role, she leads the business development, applications and support teams worldwide. NextSilicon is focused on building technology that will revolutionize the way computing is done.

In her free time, Kelly enjoys biking around the lakes of Minneapolis, waterskiing and spending time with her three sons, who are young adults.
