Pieter Ghysels, LBL

Pieter Ghysels is a research scientist and Principal Investigator in the Scalable Solver group of the Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.  He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.  He is co-PI for an Exascale Computing Project focused on Sparse Factorization-Based Sparse Solvers. His interests are in High Performance Computing and Numerical Linear Algebra. Current research activities also include GPU acceleration and the application of deep learning algorithms to graph and sparse matrix computations.
