Eric Borch is currently a system architect for HPE working on routing and topologies for the next generation of Slingshot routers. He has over 25 years of experience as a hardware and performance architect. He started his career with core CPU design on the DEC Alpha EV6/8, then transitioned to on-die interconnects for Intel Xeon and Itanium processors. A migration to system architecture and work on Intel’s OPA2 followed, before joining Cray to work on Slingshot router architecture and performance modelling.
