Matthew Turk, NCSA Matthew Turk is a Research Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois and a Research Assistant Professor in the Astronomy department at UIUC.
His scientific research interests are focused on the way the First Stars in the Universe formed, how they interacted with and transformed their environments, and how the fundamental mechanism by which stars form changed from that first generation to subsequent generations. Matthew’s interests in computational science and discovery are focused on enabling deeper questions to be asked of data, and how we can broaden the reach of software communities and collectives in science.
