Arturo Vargas currently works at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) as a computer scientist. At LLNL he contributes to RAJA, a collection of C++ software abstractions which enable architecture portability. In addition, he works on optimizing multi-physics codes for next generation computer architectures. Prior to his employment at LLNL he earned a Ph.D. in computational and applied mathematics from Rice University under the direction of Tim Warburton and Adrianna Gillman. Dr. Vargas works in the intersection of mathematics, high-performance computing, science and engineering.
