Avery Ching, Facebook Avery Ching enjoys large-scale, scalable, distributed systems research, design, and implementation. He is currently working on batch processing and graph processing at Facebook. He was part of the team that developed Facebook’s version of Hadoop (Corona – https://github.com/facebook/hadoop-20). They are also working on a next generation Corona/Hadoop infrastructure that will significantly improve compute efficiency for our most expensive pipelines. They are using Apache Giraph (http://giraph.apache.org/) for graph/iterative computations at Facebook-scale!
