Toby Isaac

Toby Isaac joined MCS in 2022 after previously working at Georgia Tech’s School of Computational Science and Engineering. He received his B.A. in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University in 2007 and his Ph.D. in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. His areas of research interest include parallel algorithms and data structures for high performance computing, numerical methods for the solution of partial differential equations, finite element analysis, and uncertainty quantification for large-scale simulations. He was the recipient of the 2016 SIAM/Supercomputing Early Career Prize, and with collaborators of the 2015 ACM Gordon Bell Prize. He is an active contributor to several community open source software projects, including PETSc, the Portable Extensible Toolkit for Scientific Computation.
