Liz Marai, UIC Liz Marai is an Associate Professor at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research is in visual computing, an area of computer science that handles images, 3D models, and the interaction between humans and data that can be represented visually.
Her research has been recognized by peers with multiple outstanding research awards, including outstanding paper awards, an NSF CAREER award, and multiple NSF and NIH R01 awards. She has received multiple teaching awards for courses that blend teaching and research. She has served as General Chair and Program Chair for the BioVis conference, as an Associate Editor, program chair, and program committee member for multiple professional meetings.
